In a media release dated Sept 10, 2013 Nutrica claimed that the Department of Veterans Affairs (DVA) has announced reimbursement of Souvenaid.
I wrote to the Secretariat of the DVA Repatriation Pharmaceutical Reference Committee asking on what grounds this product was this product put up for subsidy? In particular, I asked if they were aware of Prof Katan review of the clinical trials performed on Souvenaid? I also mention background material at: http://theconversation.com/regulations-around-food-medicine-products-fail-to-protect-consumers-14360
Subsequently, Dr Graeme Killer (DVA principal medical adviser) telephoned me and said, “individual requests for Souvenaid are on hold until the application for listing the product has been given full consideration by the Repatriation Pharmaceutical Reference Committee (RPRC)”.
